At times, it can be very difficult to remember how and what methods are the best for maintaining excellent oral health. Maintaining excellent oral health is crucial in helping your smile perform and look the way it was intended. We have made you an easy to follow checklist to help remind you of the best ways to care for your smile.
- It all begins with brushing. Brushing is recommended to be done at least twice per day and for a least two minutes per session. Try brushing in the morning when you wake up, and before you go to bed. If your lifestyle permits, then we also recommend brushing your teeth after each meal. An electric toothbrush can help ensure that you brush for a least two minutes per session as most electric toothbrushes come with a built-in timer.
- Flossing goes hand in hand with brushing and should be done one after the other. Kind of like putting your shoes on and then tieing them. Brush your teeth, then floss them. Floss will help remove any food or debris that gets wedged or stuck between your tooth that a toothbrush can get reach.
- Tongue Scraper
- Your tongue is a popular spot in your mouth for bacteria to hide out and grow. This can cause your favorite food and drinks to taste different and can cause chronic issues of bad breath. Tongue scrapers are very inexpensive and often sold in packs. Simply rub the scraper on your tongue and let it remove the bacteria.
- Mouthwash is awesome a final step in your daily routine of oral hygiene. It will not only give your mouth a blast of freshness, but it will also help rinse away any bacteria or food that may have been missed from brush and flossing.
