Botox®An Overview

botox in rogers, arThere are several components that go into creating a beautiful, balanced smile. Dr. Heather Adams has a refined eye for facial aesthetics and can incorporate Botox treatments for a full smile makeover. Dr. Adams’ training and experience as a cosmetic dentist give her a unique advantage in providing and enhancing your smile with natural results using Botox.

Botox is an FDA-approved cosmetic treatment that effectively, safely, and temporarily reduces the signs of aging. Dr. Adam’s patients can enjoy the convenience of receiving their 6-month Botox injections during their routine dental health exams.

Botox can also be used to improve the appearance and contour of healthy gums. Patients who have a “gummy smile” can use Botox to reduce the appearance of their gum line or to reduce papilla.

Beyond Beauty: Botox for Bruxism

Botox Therapeutic has been successfully used to relieve patients from the painful and often debilitating symptoms of bruxism and TMJ pain. Botox can be injected deep into the facial muscles releasing tension in the jaw joints. Relaxed, the muscles are able to repair themselves. Patients enjoy the temporary relief of painful facial pain.

Like cosmetic uses for Botox, it is safe to use about every six months. Patients enjoy the convenience of being able to receive their Botox treatment during their routine dental check-ups. Dr. Adams’ comfortable, state-of-the-art dental office provides the perfect environment to sit back, relax, and enjoy the benefits of comprehensive oral health care

Botox® What to Expect

Dr. Adams will perform a thorough cosmetic consultation and facial analysis to determine the appropriate dosage and placement of Botox treatment. Botox treatments are tailored to your unique cosmetic goals and overall physical health.

The area to be treated will be numbed using an ice cube. Once comfortable, Dr. Adams will gently insert the injections into the target areas. Patients may experience a slight pinching sensation but generally, report little to no discomfort. Some minor swelling or light bruising is typical and fades within a day or so after treatment.

Botox results last for about 6 months after treatment. Results will fade gradually and can be boosted with additional treatments. Patients who use Botox for headaches or orofacial pain may receive treatment more frequently for optimal results.

Dr. Adams will discuss treatment plans with patients in detail prior to beginning a Botox schedule. She can monitor the results and work with you to provide touchups or a new schedule of injections during routine dental visits.
