William’s Gift is a non-profit program designed to provide merit-based pro-bono dentistry by Dr. Heather Adams and her team. The program accepts nominees anonymously from current patients of Heather Adams Dentistry and from the area local non-profits. Two nominees will be selected by William’s Gift Selection Committee annually.
The name of the program was selected in honor of Dr. Adams’s brother, William, who passed away in a car accident in 1991. William, also known as Bill, was in his first year of college and had a bright future ahead of him. He was known for his friendliness, great sense of humor, and strong work ethic in both academics and sports.
He excelled in academia and was awarded a full-ride academic scholarship to attend the University of Central Arkansas where he was planning to study accounting and pursue his CPA. His 6’5” stature bode well for his talents on the basketball court in which he received many awards during his high school year.
The William’s Gift program was created by Dr. Heather Adams to honor others, who like William, work hard to better themselves but could also benefit from a little assistance along the way. Dr. Adams’s love for her brother, her love of dentistry, and her desire to help others are her “why” for founding the program. William’s Gift is the joining of these three loves.
“For many years I have wanted to find a small way to give back using the skills I have learned as a dentist and am very excited to start this program in my brother’s honor. My belief that a beautiful, healthy smile has the ability to impact an individual’s life in a positive way. This is the cornerstone of this program.” Dr. Adams
Who Can Be Nominated?
Nominees* should exhibit the following characteristics:
- Strong work ethic and focus on the betterment of one’s self and others
- Strong character
- Positive impact in the community
- Positive impact on other’s lives
Nominees* will be selected from the following nomination channels:
- Current Heather Adams Dentist Patient Nomination
- Local Non-Profit nominations of community members in need
